Jay's Vision Splendid
Jay’s Vision Splendid
(from a special correspondent at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, 2023)
In the land of Jackson Hole, where the prairies meet the sky,
Fed Chair Powell went hiking like a hawk flying high.
He spoke of high inflation, a challenge hard to beat,
And how he'd guide the economy, with rates to take the heat.
The bison and the elk, those bullish creatures bold,
Saw Jay’s path to riches, a story to be told.
They charged ahead with no fear or concern,
Thinking his actions would cause equities to burn.
But deep within the Tetons' grand embrace,
The brown bears watched, scepticism on their face.
Jay’s hikes weren’t enough, a way to test their will,
They mauled his dovish notions, with a bearish growl so still.
Yet, as they lingered in that mountain's quiet shade,
Wolves crept from prairie's edge; their fangs displayed.
They circled close, their eyes on his chore,
Ready to tear apart his vision, and leave nothing but gore.
Amidst the river's soothing bars,
Jay’s group pressed forward, ignoring the galas.
Clancy's vision splendid, a sunlit plain so wide,
But danger lurked around them, from every side.
The media, like weasels, swarmed in greedy haze,
Picking at the pockets, seeking profits in a craze.
Politicians, like vermin, crawled to gather more,
Banker's cash, fine jewels, anything they could score.
And high above, the vultures did flight,
Circled for their chance, to claim a piece of the fight.
Left-wing cries resounded, a protest in the air,
Claiming elites and capitalism caused this tragic snare.
Powell's frustration grew, his warnings cast aside,
A "bad winter" he'd predicted, but the market chose to hide.
His vision of higher rates, a landscape stark and long,
Drove the wildlife of Wyoming, to wonder him wrong.
So this tale unfolds, a whimsy spun in rhyme,
Where Jay’s hike through Tetons led to a mountainous climb.
The animals of Jackson Hole, their roles a vivid play,
Reflect the market's twists and turns, in their untamed display.
