Today is the last trading session for 2018, so it’s worth considering whether the recent mini-rally in equities amounts to a dead cat bounce, or an uptick before a double dip.

US equities are slightly up in the pre-market (although not as high as a few hours ago), as are S&P, DOW and NASDAQ futures - but sentiment can turn quickly.

A new trading year begins on Tuesday, so it will be interesting to see how things pan out in 2019.
